With over 20 years’ experience in the ESG space, Soledad is an advisor, facilitator and thought-leader on strategies, standards, and best practices in responsible and rights-based development. At Equitable Origin, Soledad leads a talented and passionate team of professionals that developed the world’s first comprehensive, global voluntary ESG standard and certification system for the energy sector. Soledad established Equitable Origin’s multi-stakeholder governance structure; designed the independent third-party assurance system; and successfully oversaw the first application of the EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy Development as well as its subsequent growth over the last decade.

Prior to joining Equitable Origin, Soledad designed and managed sustainability standards, due diligence programs, and responsible sourcing strategies for Fortune500 companies, financial institutions, standard-setting organizations, and international agencies. She has facilitated cross-sector collaborations, convened multi-stakeholder initiatives, and conducted human rights impact assessments in the energy and mining sectors. been involved in over 100 assessments in more than twenty countries, including Nigeria, where Soledad worked with human rights and environmental NGOs in the Niger Delta to assess the impacts of oil production on local communities. Soledad also worked with the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility on shareholder advocacy and engagement around supply chain and human rights issues.

Soledad holds a Master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University, an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Hertfordshire, and a Certificate in Indigenous Peoples’ Rights from the Universidad para la Paz.
