Marisol is an expert in Indigenous Peoples relations and social performance management. She credits this to her early relationship with multiculturalism and different social groups that coexist in her home country, Peru. In her experience in both civil society and in the Oil & Gas industry, she has designed strategic plans for multicultural relations as well as Corporate Social Responsibility strategies. She knows relationship management systems based on international standards and guidelines (IFC, IAD, IOGP, ISO 26000) which add value to businesses and promote sustainability. Marisol has experience in Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, and Africa as an assessor for social risk management processes and permitting in all phases of oil and gas projects. Marisol has broad experience in multi-stakeholder negotiations and mediation processes with civil society organizations and the public and private sectors. Further, Marisol is an expert in Indigenous and Aboriginal Peoples, and in the development of sustainable programs targeting vulnerable populations in remote and geographic, socially and environmentally sensitive areas. Marisol was the manager of the first community environmental monitoring program with the active participation of Indigenous Peoples in the oil and gas sector, embraced by the industry as a standard for the hydrocarbon industry in Peru. Marisol led the first national social reconstruction program for communities affected by political violence and has been published on this important topic.
