EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy
The EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy is a set of rigorous performance standards for energy development projects. The EO100™ Standard is the product of extensive consultation with the energy industry, leading international NGOs focused on energy, and indigenous communities affected by development projects. It establishes metrics and performance targets that address the social and environmental impacts of energy development. The Standard also incorporates a variety of related social and environmental initiatives, standards, conventions and declarations.
With the EO100™ Standard, Equitable Origin provides a framework for responsible energy development based on consensus from industry, NGOs, affected communities, and governmental agencies; it incentivizes excellence in social and environmental performance. With several assurance options available, EO100™ can be applied as an internal benchmarking tool and for social and environmental performance management. It can also be used for investment and supply-chain due diligence. Third-party verification of compliance with all parameters of the EO100™ Standard at a specific energy development site (e.g. an oil or gas drilling pad, a hydroelectric dam, or a wind farm) earns the site EO Certification.
Equitable Origin's EO100™ Standard for Responsible Energy Development is organized into six Principles, 61 Provisions, and 201 Performance Targets. The six principles that form the foundation of the EO System encompass the core social and environmental values that underpin all responsible energy operations. Under each Principle is a set of Provisions that addresses specific impact areas stemming from energy projects.
