Senior Research Scientist, The Sustainability Consortium
Matt Scholz is a Senior Research Scientist at The Sustainability Consortium (TSC), where he develops research and engages stakeholders on social and environmental sustainability issues along the supply chains of a wide array of consumer products. Prior to joining TSC, Matt worked as a postdoc in the Department of Chemistry at Colorado School of Mines as part of the DOE’s Sustainable Algal Biofuels Consortium. While a student at the University of Arizona, he received a PhD in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering with a research focus on biofuel production and an MS in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. He worked for six years as a molecular biologist and has authored several academic publications. Matt also served on the inaugural committee for the Green Fund, which oversees campus sustainability projects at the University of Arizona, and he was elected county chair of the Green Party in Tucson in 2000. Matt participates in the Technical Committee as an expert in his field; he does not represent TSC, its Members or Arizona State University (ASU).
