The Equitable Origin Standards Technical Committee is a permanent committee in EO's governance structure. The Standards Technical Committee is charged with reviewing, developing, and ensuring the quality of EO’s standards, assurance processes and impact evaluation activities. The Standards Technical Committee supports the Board of Directors by providing expert judgment, analysis and peer review of both EO standards and stakeholder comments on those standards.
Candidates for the Standards Technical Committee are identified by existing members, EO staff, and members of the Nomination Committee. Members are appointed by the Board of Directors for a three-year term. Members are selected for their expert knowledge of sustainability challenges in resource development, including issues related to human rights, protecting indigenous cultures, environmental and biodiversity protection, and community impacts. We also look for experience with standard-setting and voluntary certification systems, in addition to a capacity to understand both the positive and negative impacts of energy development.
We are privileged to have a group of knowledgeable and distinguished experts on our Technical Committee to guide the development of our policies and procedures related to the EO100 Standard and Certification System over the coming year. All members participate on a voluntary basis.
